VALLETTA & THE THREE CITIES · YOUR KIND OF HOLIDAY

One harbour. Four distinct bases.

Valletta sits on one side of the water; the Three Cities sit on the other. A nearby pin across the harbour is not a nearby walk. Choose the side that fits your evenings and check the actual ferry or road journey.

CITY DAYS · CULTURE & DINING

Valletta

Use a city hotel, guesthouse or self-catering apartment for heritage visits and restaurant evenings. Our selection includes Grand Harbour Hotel, Casa Ellul and Carmelita Apartments.

Check the street slope, apartment floor, lift and luggage drop-off with your host. Harbour ferries leave below the city walls.

OLD LANES · FORT & WATERFRONT

Birgu / Vittoriosa

Combine the Inquisitor’s Palace and Fort St Angelo with a meal around Birgu. Indulgence Divine offers an entire house for two adults, rather than a family-sized apartment.

The Three Cities ferry lands at Cospicua; include the onward walk or road journey to your Birgu address.

Explore Birgu

HARBOUR VIEWS · SMALL STAYS

Senglea / l-Isla

Consider The Snop House as a guesthouse base, with the Gardjola viewpoint and nearby waterside dining. Check its age policy before choosing it for children.

The peninsula and waterfront are at different levels. Ask about steps and the route back to your accommodation.

Meet the Senglea host

FERRY CONNECTION · LOCAL STREETS

Cospicua / Bormla

BOCO Boutique is a guesthouse option in Cospicua. Dockyard Creek connects the city to the Valletta passenger ferry; Birgu and Senglea are separate onward destinations.

A ferry departure is weather dependent. Check the last return and an alternative road connection before your evening out.

YOUR DATES · YOUR PACE

Your days. Different seasons.

Our planning suggestions. Choose your dates for your group, then check current conditions and opening arrangements.

High summer · shorter city outings

Our suggestion: choose shorter heritage visits and meal breaks, with outdoor walks earlier or later in the day. This is a harbour and culture base; plan a separate journey for a sandy beach day.

Spring & autumn · time in the streets

With flexible dates, give museums, small lanes and harbour crossings more time. Keep an indoor option for changeable weather and check the ferry operator’s service notices.

Quieter months · culture close by

Combine indoor heritage visits with restaurant evenings near your accommodation. Ferries publish different seasonal schedules; use the current return departure rather than a summer timetable.
